Our Services

Homemaker Services

For an individual or couple who live alone, are more frail, and have acute or chronic conditions.  Services provide light housekeeping, laundry, grocery shopping, and errands.

Information & Referral

Come to Preble County’s “one stop shop” for information about programs and services available for persons aged 60 or better.  OSHIPP Certified Counselor available for Medicare and other insurance questions.  Notary services available upon request.

Not sure what to do, give us a call, we can help or if we can’t, we will help you find the agency that can help you.

Senior Companionship Program

This special service is a way we keep “homebound” clients connected with the outside world.  Preble County Council on Aging volunteers call to check on an individual daily or as needed.  This might be a call to just say “hello, how are you feeling today?” or the volunteer might remind the individual to take their medicine, etc. It’s a way of staying in touch with a person on a friendly and caring level.  A volunteer might read a book or newspaper to the individual. Again, this is a way to keep a senior connected to the outside world and have some social time with another person.

For more information on above Supportive Services, Volunteering, and/or Support Group Meetings, please call the Preble County Council on Aging at (937) 456-4947.

Activities

PCCOA provides a wide variety of daily, weekly, and monthly activities, for people of all ages.  Check out our event calendar for the most up to date information.

Trips

Time Travelers

The PCCOA plans mini-trips for individuals who want a shorter, less strenuous travel day.   We also partner with other trip organizations to provide comfortable (motor coach) trips that are farther away both regionally and internationally.

Transportation

Preble County residents that are 60 years of age or better, and live within a 50 mile radius of Eaton are eligible for our transportation services.  Wheelchair transport is available, and one escort may ride with each participant.

Meals On Wheels

The Meals On Wheels Program is also known as our Home Delivered Meals (HDM) Program. With this program, hot nutritious meals are delivered to older adults at home.  All meals provide at least one-third of the government’s daily recommended dietary allowances.  Meal deliverers check on the welfare of the client and are trained to report any health or other problems noticed during the visit.   Call us for eligibility requirements.
